FXBLOOMS
FXBLOOMS is a peer-to-peer currency exchange marketplace that allows users to exchange money seamlessly and securely at their own desired rate.
Project Overview
The complexities of varied economies, numerous currencies, and varying exchange rates create a compelling need for a better money exchange solution throughout Africa. Traditional banking systems with high fees hinder accessibility, particularly for individuals who do not have access to official financial services. Informal channels are dangerous. A simplified and transparent solution is required to increase economic growth, promote financial inclusion, and enable smooth cross-border transactions, empowering both individuals and enterprises.
FXBLOOMS seeks to build a platform that allows users to exchange their currencies through a marketplace, where sellers post the amount they want to sell and a desired rate. Buyers can then select the best available deal, fund their wallets, exchange currencies, and withdraw the exchanged amount.
My Role
As the sole designer, I worked closely with the company’s founder, product manager, and development team to bring the MVP2 of FXBLOOM Webapp to market.

I was also responsible for building the Design System, Mobile app, and Admin Dashboard.
The Problem
The existing currency exchange processes are often cumbersome and involve high fees. FXBLOOMS aims to address this issue by providing a user-friendly platform for seamless peer-to-peer currency exchange at competitive rates.
The Solution
We approached this design using the design thinking methodology. Considering the nature of the problem we want to solve and those who have tried to solve it in different ways we had to spend time researching our target market (empathize), we defined the exact problem (define), we them thought of different approaches to solving the problems (ideate), and we moved on to creating what the product would look like (prototype) and finally running some user testing to learn from it and making the necessary adjustment.
